Our History

Wishbone Kiddie Camp is an offshoot of a teacher’s simple wish to return to her roots after two years of being a “domestic goddess,” dutifully fulfilling her family responsibilities to her then-young sons. Her background as a preschool and elementary teacher pushed her to return to her first love – teaching.
Our journey began in 2002 when Tracylyn H. Umandal, also known as Teacher Tracy, established a tutorial center. With the help of her sister, Ma. Cristina H. Charvet, also known as Teacher Tin, and with just ten kids as their first tutees, they embarked on a mission. The parents’ overwhelming support and the demand for a formal preschool led Teacher Tracy to secure a permit from the Department of Education. And so, in SY 2003-2004, Wishbone Kiddie Camp opened its doors to 40 Nursery and Kindergarten (now Pre-Kinder) students. The following year, the Preparatory level (now known as Kindergarten) was introduced, the enrollment rate doubled, and two more teachers joined the team. From then on, there was no looking back for WKC, as more students flocked in, and the preschool department received government recognition.
The opening of the Grade 1 level took place in the school year 2007. This same year, Teacher Tracy invited her mother, Ms. Maria Bella V. Hernandez, to join Wishbone Kiddie Camp after her retirement as a principal of a parochial school. One grade level was added each year until the elementary course was completed. SY 2012-2013 saw the first batch of grade six students receive their elementary diplomas. The same year, WKC achieved a significant triumph with the recognition of its elementary course.
WKC has been accepting children with learning differences (“special needs”) for inclusion in the regular program since the school year 2011-2012. In 2023, WKC began offering a homeschooling program to cater to the diverse needs of different types of learners.

WKC continues to provide outstanding service to the community by offering quality education to students, despite changing times.
